Before he became a recruiter Niall had wide executive experience of the association sector, having run several membership bodies and charities, merged some and split off others. He was a founder member of the Trade Association Forum Steering Group and was a director and Treasurer of the Institute of Association Management.  He has recruited senior staff for a wide range of membership organisations – trade and employers’ associations, charities and professional bodies – and advised on strategic re-organisations, international collaboration, new constitutions and developing new income streams.

Niall has nearly 30 years’ experience recruiting senior staff for associations and advising or managing others.  His earlier commercial experience includes senior management roles in finance, operations, sales and marketing and general management in several sectors including publishing, automotive, consumer durables, engineering, storage systems and business services.

He was Executive Recruitment Director of G-NET – the association for international association executives – and has a strong commitment to helping organisations and individuals make the best use of “human capital”.  He played a leading role in the creation of one of the trailblazer Sector Skills Councils, sat on its Council for several years and he has been a college governor. Niall has been a judge for the Association Awards several times.

Niall has an Engineering degree from Cambridge, an MBA from Cranfield and is an Honorary Fellow of the Strategic Planning Society and of the Institute of Association Management.
